Bedtime with Elmo DVD, Sesame Street
Bedtime is often a difficult time for kids, so Elmo, Abby, and the folks on Sesame Street find ways to fall asleep easily.

Elmo and Abby are no different than other kids. They just happen to be Muppets. In this DVD for kids, the residents of Sesame Street find themselves with different problems when it comes to bedtime.

Tools to Fall Asleep

As he does every night, Elmo’s father tucks him in with his stuffed animal, but tonight Elmo cannot fall asleep. When he calls for his father, he insists it is his stuffed animal that cannot go to sleep, so Elmo’s dad Louie teaches him to count imaginary sheep.

Elmo still cannot get to sleep and wishes for his good friend Abby Cadabby, who pops in. She is also having problems getting to sleep. Abby is afraid of the dark. Louie teaches both Elmo and Abby that nothing changes in the dark. Everything is in the same place, and after adapting to the lights being off, they are able to see with the help of the nightlight and the moon.

Ernie and Bert also have a difficult time with sleep this night, showing it is not always the littlest kids who cannot get to sleep.

Sleeping doesn’t always come easily for kids, or adults for that matter. This DVD is a delightful way for kids to learn that they are not alone when it comes to going to bed. Whether they want to stay up and play, or simply cannot get to sleep, Elmo, Abby, and the gang show that they are just like their human viewers.

Besides the residents of Sesame Street, real children explain how their parents help them fall asleep at night. Going to sleep is often just as difficult as getting up in the morning, but sleep is important and the benefits of sleep are explained so kids know that they really have to get their sleep.

Singing lullabies, having stories read to them, rubbing their backs, counting sheep, and learning about the dark are all covered in this DVD designed to help kids snuggle into their beds and fall asleep, along with their favorite Muppets.

Bonus Features

For bonus features there is a bedtime storybook included on the DVD as well as a song. “Time to Say Goodnight” sung to Elmo by singer Andrea Bocelli. Not only Elmo enjoys this beautiful lullaby. Viewers, both young and old, will enjoy this soothing song sung by one of the top artists.

Bedtime with Elmo is not rated. It runs about 44 minutes. Besides the bonus features there are a few tips for parents for when they are dealing with the trials and tribulations of bedtime for their kids. All the proceeds from the sale of Sesame Street DVDs and toys go directly to Sesame Street.
